Special Brown Bag Public Policy Forum:
Transportation Demand Management
Join us June 15, 2016 to learn about the City’s proposed Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program.
Transportation Demand Management, often referred to as TDM, is the “Shift” component of the Transportation Sustainability Program, a comprehensive reform of the way the City handles development so that the transportation network keeps pace with growth. TDM incentivizes on-site amenities intended to provide sustainable alternatives to driving - or “shifting” people’s usual practice of driving alone in their cars - by providing residents, business tenants, and visitors with sustainable alternative travel options, for example:
On April 28, 2016, Planning Department staff initiated a Planning Code Amendment for the TDM Ordinance. It is currently scheduled for adoption at the Planning Commission on July 7, 2016.
