The San Francisco Climate Action Plan charts a pathway to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and works toward addressing racial and social equity, public health, economic recovery, resilience, and providing safe and affordable housing to all. Hear from Commercial Zero Waste Assistant Coordinator Kelly Gaherty of the San Francisco Department of the Environment on upcoming zero waste legislation and have the opportunity to provide feedback on zero waste initiatives in San Francisco.
About Kelly Gaherty
Kelly Gaherty has served at the San Francisco Environment Department since 2019. She started her career as a Green Business Associate helping businesses achieve certification after meeting a high set of statewide environmental standards. Now she serves San Francisco’s Zero Waste team as Commercial Zero Waste Coordinator where she’s responsible for implementation of SB 1383 edible food recovery programs and foodware waste prevention. She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.

The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is working to provide the City with practical business feedback to aid implementation of the sustainability policies and initiatives outlined in The Climate Action Plan.
