That?s why we?ve teamed up with Visa to launch Practical Business Skills for Chamber members. Practical Business Skills helps equip micro and small businesses with the financial and business knowledge to better manage their money and make confident, informed business decisions. We hope to assist business owners in growing their business and personal skills to drive resilience and growth through this free, relevant, accessible, and credible online educational resource, now available in both English and Spanish.

Join us on June 14 from 9:00 -10:00 AM for an exciting discussion with Hugh Norton, Senior Director of Financial Education from the Social Impact team at Visa, to review the small business site, so you can make the most of all it has to offer. The session will be a tour of the resource and a dive into the ?Managing a Business Section?, which includes topics such as financial management, promoting your business, managing your employees, and planning for an emergency.

Hugh Norton is Senior Director of Financial Education on the Social Impact team at Visa Inc. Norton works on the company's award-winning financial literacy initiative which has included programs in 44 markets and 18 languages. Visa?s Practical Money Skills program is a global effort that has reached more than 90 million people worldwide. Norton's responsibilities include developing and implementing new programs and interactive tools for consumers, publishing print and online educational materials, and coordinating with government, financial and non-profit partners.

As part of Visa's Social Impact team, Norton supports the company's community involvement and corporate responsibility efforts. He has been an active participant in the financial literacy community for years and makes regular appearances at regional, national and global financial literacy events to support various education initiatives and to speak on behalf of Visa's programs.

Prior to joining Visa, Norton worked in public relations for a wide range of financial services, entertainment, and public affairs clients, including publicity for multiple New York Times bestsellers and an Oscar-winning best picture. He currently lives in northern Virginia with his wife and children.

Norton sits on the National Board of Directors for the JumpStart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy®, the Board of Directors for Call for Action, and the advisory council for the National Foundation for Credit Counseling.
