Public Policy Forum:
Trust in Business and Corporate Responsibility
With the mass population trusting peers and familiar sources more than established institutions and experts, businesses are being challenged to take action and provide leadership through corporate responsibility. The 2017 Edelman Trust Barometer describes how businesses and CEOs can build public trust in a better future through action in their local communities. For 17 years, the Barometer report has measured trust in institutions including business, media, NGOs and government.
This year’s study dives into California specifically, showing that Californians believe the quality of life on the West Coast is better than the rest of the United States, despite high housing costs, traffic concerns, and the homelessness and housing crises.
