Assemblymember Ting was first elected to the State Assembly in 2012. He represents the 19th Assembly District which spans the west side of San Francisco as well as the communities of Broadmoor, Colma and Daly City.

Assemblymember Ting chairs the Assembly Budget Committee and the Asia/California Trade and Investment Promotion Committee. Prior to being elected to the Assembly he served as San Francisco's Assessor-Recorder.
