LOOKSIE OPTOMETRY Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting
Looksie Brings High-Fashion Eyewear to San Francisco’s Polk Gulch
TAKE A LOOKSIE: A beautifully curated collection featuring handmade European eyewear that’s timeless yet fun.
That’s one of the guiding principles for Dr. Amy Tran’s new boutique near the corner of Polk and Bush streets in the heart of San Francisco.
Looksie has more than 300 frames carefully selected for shoppers who want quality statement pieces. The collection includes some hard-to-find designers, such as vintage-inspired, whimsical Anne et Valentin of France; classic yet street-smart Andy Wolf of Austria; flirty, feminine Paul & Joe of France; and sleek, colorful Orgreen of Denmark. Shoppers also can find high-fashion favorites such as Persol, Miu Miu and others.
Housed in its original 1920’s art deco façade, the boutique itself is a bright, open space that reflects the timeless look of Looksie. Custom cabinetry by San Francisco designer Peter Doolittle, owner of PDX Productions (Health Ceramics, Bi-Rite Market on Divisadero, Boccalone, Nopa, Nopalito), uses sustainable elm to add clean, dramatic lines that perfectly showcase the frames and draw eyes in from the street.
After a soft open in September, Looksie is officially launching:
Grand Opening Party Thursday, Dec. 5 (4 p.m. to 8 p.m). Open to the public, featuring free food, drinks, swag and a raffle giveaway for a pair of Persol sunglasses
