Immersive technology allows us to create experiences that are a step beyond a tap/click or video view. Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Voice, 3D, 360, XR stages… these may seem to be futuristic technologies, but in reality they are transforming so many industries including marketing, advertising, events, product, retail, enterprise, logistics, healthcare and entertainment.

Immersive technology has infiltrated every sector and every discipline and whether you’re using it on the job, or in your daily life, chances are you’ve experienced it.

The question for job hunters looking to participate in what will be a growth field, is “What are the career opportunities for me in immersive technology?” 

Job Forum panelist and our marketing and AR / VR expert, Michelle Excell will host and moderate a panel discussion for job hunters and those interested in possibilities for new careers. The panel of experts will include managers from top immersive technology employers and professionals who have found new opportunities in this growing field. 

Topics we’ll cover:

• A brief introduction to immersive technology and it’s many acronyms and terminology
• What kinds of companies, services and products are included in the immersive technology field?
• How did our panel of experts find their way into their current roles working in this growing field?
• What are the some of the growth drivers? e.g. New behaviors, sectors that are being transformed the fastest
• 2020 accelerated growth, which sectors and disciplines within immersive tech benefited and are those changes here to stay? 
• We’ll look at some expected and unexpected disciplines that the field needs in order to grow 
• What advice do our panel have for those interested in moving into immersive tech, how can job hunters prepare for success? 
• As hiring managers, what past experience and industries do our panel look for when hiring?
• Tips and advice to job hunters (tips for digital developers, event managers, advertising creative professionals, producers, product managers, media and entertainment and so on)
