Center Hardware & Supply Co. Ribbon Cutting Celebration Honors Store’s 135 Years in Business & New Location; First 50 Customers Receive Gift
WHAT: Center Hardware & Supply Co., one of San Francisco’s oldest family owned hardware stores, has moved into a new building in the Dogpatch neighborhood at 3003 Third Street. The store will celebrate its public grand opening with a ribbon cutting on Friday, Jan. 27 at 10:30 a.m.
The celebration will last all day with Red Sauce Meatball food truck providing free snacks, vendor demonstrations by Milwaukee and Alpha Tools and product giveaways including Yeti, Milwaukee, Nebo and Makita while supplies last. The first 50 customers at the ribbon cutting will receive a hardware supplies gift bag.
An independent, family-owned business, Keith Gentner and his daughter, Jamie, have run and operated Center Hardware since 1980 after Keith merged Ocean View Hardware into Center Hardware. Center Hardware and its predecessor hardware stores have served the Bay Area since 1880, literally building the fabric of the city.
In the new 20,000 square foot retail location, Center Hardware carries thirty percent more products in-stock and ready to purchase. The new location has a larger parking lot (40 cars) and easy access to the I-280 and 101 freeways.
