CANCELED - Public Education: Transformation Actually is Possible!
EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED
Hosted by:
Dr. Raymond Isola will present at a special education event that is designed for job hunters in education, for teachers, administrators, and policy makers and business people who want to see educators succeed and for those who care about education in the SF Bay Area.
When Dr. Raymond Isola became principal of a San Francisco public school, the school was performing in the lowest quartile of California’s Academic Performance Index.
Come and hear, and be inspired by, the approaches he and his team of educators used to address the challenges the school faced.
Learn how the elementary school successfully implemented evidence-based instruction and was able to transform the learning experiences of students from a low-income and linguistically diverse community in the Mission District of San Francisco.
Dr. Isola will present his approach and methods and there will be time for networking. You will have a chance to purchase and ask Dr. Isola’s to sign his new book .
This is an important topic because of the interdependence between education, business and the vitality of the regional economy. We have a teacher and principal shortage in California. Tackling a statewide shortage of teachers was recently front and center in California's Gov. Gavin Newsom's proposed budget of $900 million recently released. It is very critical that we support the best practices to close the “opportunity gaps” that create the "achievement gaps” for the most vulnerable families living in the San Francisco Bay Area.
There will be light refreshments.
The event is sponsored by the Job Forum and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce with a community grant from LinkedIn.
Regular Job Forum events are every Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the Mezzanine conference room at 235 Montgomery Street.
