3rd Annual Hungry Ghost Festival

The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco is thrilled to invite you to our 3rd Annual Hungry Ghost Festival on Saturday, August 23, from 4–9 p.m.

Since launching in 2023, the Hungry Ghost Festival has become one of the only citywide celebrations of its kind in the U.S., a multi-venue, free, family-friendly festival that reimagines ancient tradition through music, large-scale art, community booths, and the unforgettable Ghost King Parade. In 2024, the festival welcomed over 18,000 attendees and brought in $400,000+ in revenue for local small businesses.

This year’s theme is “Demons of Our Times.” As marginalized communities face rising threats, the festival offers a space for remembrance, resistance, and cathartic release through art and solidarity.
