SUMMARY:Small Business Advisory Council: Shop Local
DESCRIPTION:Small Business Advisory Council\n\n\n\n"Shop Local"\n\nWhat does it mean to a Small Business and San Francisco?\n \n\nJoin the Small Business Advisory Council\, and representatives from the Office of Economic & Workforce Development and Small Business California on Tuesday\, October 27 as we discuss the 'shop local' movement in San Francisco\, the various campaigns in place and how they all tie together. Highlights will include:\n\n\n\n \n\nShop & Dine in the 49 \n\nMayor Edwin Lee's Shop & Dine in the 49 is a shop local campaign challenging residents to do all their shopping and dining within the 49 square miles of San Francisco and to promote local business districts to visitors from near and far.\n\n\n\nSF Biz Connect\n\nSF Biz Connect is an initiative of Mayor Edwin Lee to encourage local spending within the business community. The Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) in partnership with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce have developed this site to help facilitate this interaction.\n\n\n\nSmall Business Saturday \n\nIn 2010\, American Express founded Small Business Saturday to help businesses with their most pressing need - getting more customers. The day happens every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and encourages people to shop at the small businesses that help write the story of America.\n\n \n\nThe event will also summarize results from a recent poll reflecting neighborhood business perception of what it means to "shop local".\n\n \n \n\nThe Chamber's Small Business Advisory Council (SBAC) is your best source for discussion and presentations on current small business policy issues and regulations. SBAC attendees\n\nprovide valuable recommendations to the full Public Policy Committee and have the\n\nopportunity to ask questions of the advocacy team regarding changes in laws that\n\nmay impact their business. \n\n\n\nFor more information on the Small Business Advisory Council please contact Joey Blaszczyk at jblaszczyk@sfchamber.com
