DESCRIPTION:Public Policy Forum with Police Chief William "Bill" Scott\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nPlease join us for the May 8th Public Policy Forum as Police Chief William "Bill" Scott shares his experiences from his first year and a half as San Francisco's chief law enforcement officer. \n\n\n\nChief Scott was sworn in by the late Mayor Edwin M. Lee on January 23\, 2017. He joined SFPD after serving 27 years in the Los Angeles Police Department and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Chief of LAPD?s South Bureau after being promoted to Commander in 2012. Chief Scott brings to the Department a keen focus on community policing and experience implementing major reforms. He leads SFPD as it undertakes key reforms laid out by the Department of Justice.Chief Scott grew up in Birmingham\, Alabama and attended the University of Alabama\, where he earned a degree in Accounting. \n\n\n\nThe forum begins at 12:00 pm on May 8 in the Chamber boardroom. Light lunch will be provided thanks to our generous sponsors at Safeway. \n\n\nThe Chamber's Public Policy Forums are held monthly to help partners understand and engage in key issues impacting the business community.
