SUMMARY:Public Policy Forum: The Future of Ferries\, A Vision for San Francisco Bay
DESCRIPTION:9/19 Public Policy Forum\n\nThe Future of Ferries: A Vision for San Francisco Bay \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us Tuesday\, September 19 for Public Policy Forum as the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) presents on their new strategic plan to dramatically increase ferry ridership and services throughout the Bay Area. WETA operates ferry service in the cities of Oakland\, Alameda\, Vallejo\, South San Francisco and San Francisco under the San Francisco Bay Ferry operating banner. After consolidating city-run services and expanding to South San Francisco in 2012\, ridership has risen 81 percent\, averaging 8\,450 riders on a typical weekday. \n\n\n\nThe Forum begins at 12:00 pm on September 19 in the Chamber boardroom. Light lunch will be provided thanks to our generous sponsors at Safeway. \n\n\nThe Chamber's Public Policy Forums are held monthly to help partners understand and engage in key issues impacting the business community. Forums feature elected representatives\, city department heads\, subject-matter experts and community leaders in a facilitated dialogue on issues of concern.
