DESCRIPTION:You are invited to a workshop on the topic of careers in philanthropy and non-profit organizations.\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\n\nHave you thought of working in a more meaningful\, mission driven\, organization and want to explore nonprofits?\n\n\n\nThe event is hosted by The Job Forum with sponsorship by The SF Chamber of Commerce and LinkedIn.\n\n\n\nThis event will be a speaker panel with experts who are senior leaders talking about work and hiring at non profit organizations. They will answer questions and share tips for job hunters interested in entering non-profit work and advancing careers in philanthropic work.\n\n\n\nSome of the experts who will participate on the discussion panel for the benefit of job hunters are a manager from Packard Foundation\, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and a leading Foundation Management Services consultancy and more. Please join us!\n\n\n\nThursday\, June 24 - 6 pm to 7:45 pm\n\n\n\nMeeting via Zoom (the link will be emailed to you before the start time).\n\n\n\nTopics that will be covered include:\n\n\n	What typically are some of the roles\, job titles and career progression at philanthropic non-profit organizations?\n	If a job hunter is in the "for-profit world" now\, how does he /she figure out what the jobs are and what the job titles mean in nonprofits?\n	As a job hunter\, how do you look at your own skill set and pick out what will be transferable and valuable to non-profit organizations?\n	Are the interview questions for nonprofit jobs somewhat different than interview questions you would expect to be asked in the for-profit world?\n	What are some of the best reasons to work at a non-profit?\n	Can you work in non-profits and then move to for profit or is that really hard to accomplish?\n	Are non -profits a place for those over 40 to find new careers? And if so what skills\, experiences and characteristics do they need to bring to be hired?\n	What is the day-to-day work like? Do you have the right software and tools that support the work?
