SUMMARY:Brown Bag Special Public Policy Forum: Gross Receipts Tax Update
DESCRIPTION:Brown Bag Special Public Policy Forum: \n\nGross Receipts Tax Update With Greg Kato\n\n\n\n\n\n \nJoin us February 23 as Greg Kato of the Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector presents an update on changes to the Gross Receipts Tax. Mr. Kato will provide an overview to changes that have been made to the tax form and filing schedule. \n\n\n\nThe Gross Receipts Tax and Business Registration Fees Ordinance (Proposition E) was approved by San Francisco voters on November 6\, 2012. It instituted sweeping changes to business taxes in San Francisco\, notably instituting a gross receipts tax\, increasing business registration fees\, and reducing the payroll expense tax. \n\nGreg Kato is the Gross Receipts Tax Director in the Office of the Treasurer & Tax Collector. Previously Mr. Kato was a municipal financial consultant to California school districts\, assisting clients in securing public approval of over a billion dollars in financing to build and modernize schools. Greg is a 2016 recipient of the SPUR Good Government Award for Public Managerial Excellence. \n\n\n\n*Please note that we will provide water for the event and will not be providing light lunch.
